Ap...Well, I only know what I've read or seen on TV. Apparently a company was going to funeral homes and recovering tissue without families' knowledge or consent. I don't know if the funeral homes were complicite in this or if they thought the company had the families' okay. <BR/><BR/>It's so wrong on so many levels. First, it's a desecration to the deceased person and their family. It destroys the trust people have in organ/tissue donation and makes them less likely to donate. And from what I understand, they may not have run tests to screen for communicable diseases, so know those recipients have to worry. Can you imagine going in for knee surgery and now having to worry you might have AIDS or hepatitis?
