Play this!
UK Transplant has this great game about allocating organs. It's addictive. I so need to practice...because, uh, my patients didn't do very well. Also, NATCO, The North American Tranplant Coordinators Organization, has a patient simulation for various professionals: transplant coordinator, hospital development, etc. which is very useful, educational and fun, if you're into that sort of thing. I am.

hahaha....:) If only real life were as easy as a video game....
BTW the trick to the game is that the lungs last the longest, then the kidneys, but hearts go super quick, then the livers...So if you can tx a heart, do it and the lungs can probably wait. It's a tricky timing thing...
And I wish the programming was easily adjustable to reflect regional variation. For instance, New Zealand vs. the region around St. Louis in the US. (Terrible rates vs. pretty good as I understand it.) Then we could really get a tangible sense of what a difference geography makes in terms of organ donation.
